Melbourne University’s libraries have been flooded with scans of butter croissants.
The Facebook page “University of Melbourne Confessions” has been posting pictures of croissants being scanner all around campus.
The phenomenon has now become a meme amassing thousands of likes and comments and bei
ng shared on other university Facebook pages.
It is believed that the phenomenon has emerged from a project for “Found
ation of Design’ a frit year Architectural subject.
Students taking the unit have taken to social media to voice their annoyance at the meme.
“That’s it i’m outta here, you know you’re done when your assignment got turned into a
meme” said Arika Brandon on the University of Melbourne Confession page.
The students who work has been shared seem to have had no clue their projects would become a campus wide talking point. “WHAAAAAT?????Holy sh*t this looks
so familiar to me cos it’s MINE” comment Rosy Gan on a picture of her project shared to the page.
The design department at Melbourne University has had to go to the extent of putting up signs to direct students to specific scanners to use for croissants.
This was followed shortly by a tweet form @uniprinting requesting that all croissant scanner cease.
